Ashburton College offers students a wide range of subjects and activities in a caring, supportive, secondary school learning environment. Ashburton College operates a Ministry of Education instigated and approved Enrolment Scheme. All students who live within Ashburton College’s Zone are eligible to enrol.

Home Zone

All students who live within the home zone shall be eligible to enrol at Ashburton College.

Out-of-Zone Enrolments

All students who live within the home zone shall be eligible to enrol at Ashburton College.

Out of Zone Enrolments are able to be considered to a number which doesn’t place Ashburton College’s roll to capacity, above 1280. The number of out of zone enrolments may vary from year to year. If the number exceeds 1280, applications will be processed in the following order of priority – click here.

Key Dates for Enrolments

Thursday 14 May – Information will be sent to contributing schools about enrolment
Friday 12 June – Information sent to all families to choose option subjects for 2027

Monday 8 June – Open Evening for all prospective Year 9 students and their families (4.00pm to 6.30pm)
Wednesday 10 June – All online enrolments submitted or manual enrolment cards handed into contributing schools

  • Friday 19 June – 9.00am to 3.00pm

  • Tuesday 23 June – 9.00am to 6.00pm

  • Monday 29 June – 9.00am to 6.00pm

  • Wednesday 22 July – 9.00am to 6.00pm

  • Wednesday 5 August – 9.00am to 6.00pm

Tuesday 24 November – Year 8 induction day (9.00am to 1.00pm)
